The victim, according to The Post, is Meth’s 28-year-old daughter’s ex-boyfriend. According to reports, the man, who supposedly dated Meth’s daughter over ten years ago, declined on-scene medical treatment.
Although Method Man has asserted that he has never been arrested, The Post reports that a complaint concerning the 53-year-old rapper was submitted to the New York Police Department. Nonetheless, the NYPD confirmed to Billboard that there is no record of an arrest.
Meth has faced legal issues in the past. In 2010, he admitted guilt to charges of tax evasion and paid $40,000 on the spot as restitution after accumulating a debt of around $106,000. The Tical rapper was taken into custody in 2009 for not paying state and personal income taxes. “When he became aware of the tax problem, he promptly hired someone and addressed it immediately,” stated Meth’s defense attorney Peter Frankel at that time. “He handled it swiftly, like the responsible member of our community that he is.”
While he hasn’t put out a studio album since 2022’s Meth Lab Season 3: The Rehab, Method Man continues to be sought after for collaborations. In 2024, Method Man collaborated with Redman, 38 Spesh, Skyzoo, Your Old Droog, Ghostface Killah, Marlon Craft, and others.

Method Man was taken into custody while at the gym, and a police report was created. However, the Post highlights that the rapper was not arrested on the scene.
Method Man, whose real name is Clifford Smith Jr., allegedly got into a fight with the victim after recognizing him as his daughter Cheyenne’s ex-boyfriend from over ten years ago. No further details regarding his motives have been confirmed.
The Tical rapper has gained significant recognition for his roles in film and television lately. He recently portrayed “Davis MacLean” in the popular series “Power Book II: Ghost,” for which he received an NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and he previously appeared in the second season of “Godfather of Harlem.” He also played a role in the 2024 film “Bad Shabbos” alongside Kyra Sedgwick.
