Djo is set to release its third album in April, ahead of the highly anticipated final season of Stranger Things later this year.
Stranger Things star Joe Keery has announced an exciting new album. Transitioning from his role as an actor to his musical persona, the singer, songwriter, and actor—who records under the name Djo—will release The Crux on April 4 via AWAL. To kick off the follow-up to 2022’s Decide, Keery has unveiled a new track titled “Basic Being Basic.” You can listen to it below and scroll down for Djo’s upcoming tour dates.

Moreover, Keery co-produced the album alongside Adam Thein, with recording sessions held at New York’s iconic Electric Lady Studios. The Crux marks his third Djo album, following the release of Decide and his 2019 debut album, Twenty Twenty.
Since releasing the album DECIDE in 2022, Djo’s track “End Of Beginning” has unexpectedly gone viral on TikTok, cementing its status as a standout song. Now, Joe Keery—widely recognized for his role in Stranger Things—is unveiling the next Djo album, The Crux. The lead single, “Basic Being Basic,” is officially out.
Describing the song, Keery says, “It’s kind of a shot fired at anyone trying too hard to stay trendy,” a sentiment clearly reflected in the hook: “I think you’re scared of being basic.” The track also embraces the speak-singing trend, with Keery delivering his lyrics in a sardonic, deadpan tone.
